Design rules ensure that only the appropriate supports are applied to pipes. A wide range of pre-defined supports are supplied and specials may be easily created where necessary.

Integrity and clash-checking tools ensure design quality and can be re-run at any time.
Complete information
Each support is created as a fully detailed part of the 3D model, visible to all disciplines. It can be included in layout drawings, visualisations, weight calculations etc.
Full deliverables
MDS provides comprehensive design outputs, including fully detailed drawings and Material Take Off, weights, line identifications, fabrication details, weld data, location plans, isometric views and drawing schedules.

How it works

Supports can be designed according to the rules in selected support manufacturers' software. Currently interfaced by MDS are the design rules for Lisega, Carpenter & Patterson and
Pipe Supports Limited (PSL).

The work process is as follows:

Identify item to be supported and the steelwork/civil connection.
Read all the information from the design model and pass it to the support manufacturer's software.
Design the support.
Exit the manufacturers' software; MDS builds the support in the model.
