Department: AVEVA NET Solutions EMEA

Job Purpose

To provide and deliver AVEVA NET applications solutions, consultancy and implementation services to EMEA-wide customers.

Dimensions

To work as a member of the EMEA Central AVEVA NET Application Consultants team in providing solution design, solution implementation, solution configuration and hosted solution support to the EMEA AVEVA NET prospect and customer base, which is mainly in plant engineering and operations and the shipbuilding industry. The role requires significant travel and engagement with customers as part of a solutions requirements team, developing business opportunities and closing business.

Principal Accountabilities

The provision of technical solutions and application support to the EMEA-wide AVEVA NET solution delivery team in pre- and post-sales activities, including but not limited to the following:

Understanding of prospects' business requirements and delivering support to the business capture and solutions delivery requirements in all aspects of the AVEVA NET solutions capabilities.
To provide workflow implementation services using relevant technologies: AVEVA NET and MS SharePoint to EMEA AVEVA NET prospects for demonstration and customer implementations.
To define, document and implement IT infrastructure for AVEVA NET including hosted opportunities for both hardware and environment requirements, addressing physical and virtual server requirements, back-up, security models and firewall configurations, working with AVEVA Infrastructure team as required.
To provide system and environment installation and configuration services for AVEVA NET solutions on AVEVA provided hardware, Hosted Environments and Client site locations.
To analyze client software applications and infrastructure to integrate data from disparate applications into an AVEVA NET Environment.
To load, manage and configure prospects' and clients' project data into pilot and production environments.
To develop and deliver customer-specific application extensions.
To write and document AVEVA NET reports using relevant technologies - for example SSRS reports.
To configure and implement AVEVA NET demonstrators and production solutions using AVEVA NET solutions gateways.

Important Working Relationships

Ability to work with EMEA-wide Business Development, Business Capture and Solution Delivery teams and to work with Group and Regional IT infrastructure groups.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required

A proven track record in customization and development of client-specific solutions using MS SQL server, Oracle, MS SSRS, XML and standards-based solutions.
A proven track record of implementation and customization of Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007 and SharePoint Portal Server; for example, the ability to design web parts, workflows and activities within MS SharePoint.
A strong background and proven experience in Visual Studio - C#, ASP.NET, Java Development and WebServices.
An understanding of network architecture and configuration, network security (Firewall setup, Network setup, VPN) active directory environments etc.
A proven understanding of the business requirements of large-scale information management demands for capital projects and plant operations in the process, power or shipbuilding sectors.
A relevant technical qualification / degree
Willingness to travel extensively within the Middle East region and abroad to perform implementation and training tasks.
The ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple commitments.
A high level of English language competency. Arabic language would be an advantage.
Proven report writing / documentation writing capabilities.
Knowledge of CAD systems (PDMS, PDS, Smartplant, AutoPLANT, AutoCAD, Microstation) would be an advantage

Knowledge of Project Execution and Operations, Lifecycle Information Management or Enterprise Content Management solutions(eg. Documentum, Maximo, SAP PM etc) would be a distinct advantage.
