Dr. J. Patrick Kennedy

Tribute to the late Dr. J. Patrick Kennedy

It is with deep sadness that we announce the death of Dr J. Patrick Kennedy, founder, and CEO of OSIsoft, and a member of the independent AVEVA Board.

Pat will be remembered as a visionary leader, growing OSIsoft from a small data management startup in San Leandro, California in 1980 to what was to become a highly successful global software corporation with the world-renowned PI System. We were very fortunate when he entrusted us with OSIsoft and sold the business to AVEVA in 2021.

Among his impressive achievements, he received many industry awards throughout his career, including the prestigious Silicon Valley Engineering Council Hall of Fame.

Pat had time for everyone, always engaged and interested in the people he met. In addition, he was a great intellect and highly respected within the industry. He will be missed by so many.
