Marketing pdfs are being synced from MediaValet to AEM Assets and linked on AVEVA web pages so that they can be tracked on the new Content Intelligence Hub that is being used by AVEVA Marketing to monitor performance.

AEM Components That Enable MediaValet ID Tracking in PDFs

To ensure successful tracking of these pdfs for the Power BI dashboard, the following conditions must be met:

The pdf is synced from MediaValet to AEM Assets
The pdf link is authored in an AEM component that has been enabled to track a MediaValet ID
The pdf and the web page(s) it is linked on have been published in AEM

Tracking is enabled within these AEM components:

Secondary Navigation
Footer List
List (Fixed list option)
Smart Button - Select Action = Download, and check "Display Inline"
- Smart Button may be used in conjuntion with these components:
  - Accordion
  - Accordion with Card
  - Announcement
  - Background Container
  - Card Icons
  - Card Images (static version)
  - Card Perspectives (static version)
  - Hero Banner
  - Quote

Tracking is enabled through the Card Properties > External URL field, and this will impact the following AEM components that feature a CTA link generated from the External URL:

Card Images (dynamic version)
Card Perspectives (dynamic version)
List (dynamic version with Child list option)

Tracking will never be possible in these components:

Text
Any component that has a link hosted within a RTE field
