Mieke holds a Master's degree in computer science from the Vrije Universiteit Brussel in Belgium and has more than 30 years of experience in IT, Automation, Quality Operations, Coaching, People & Project Management. As Director of Global Automation Engineering at Pfizer, she leads a team that sets out the standards and supports the Automation departments of the 38 Pfizer production sites, worldwide. She was recently celebrated as one of the fifty most inspiring women in technology in Belgium for 2022 (see belgium.inspiringfifty.org). Besides her passion and interest in technology, Mieke is also passionate about developing talent. She is an MBTI certified coach and trainer, was the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Lead for the Pfizer Puurs site for more than 2 years, and is a firm advocate of psychological safety in the workplace.
