    • Change highlighting is applied to re-imported data also, enabling any changes to be accepted or rejected before updating the database.
    • All aspects of the product, including the data model, engineering discipline boundaries and access rights, are highly configurable.
    • A Microsoft® Office Fluent™– based user interface and familiar spreadsheet functionality makes the product quick to learn and easy to use.
    • Configurable, customer-defined Project Breakdown Structures (PBS) can be defined to suit project and company standards.
    • The PBS mechanism offers a very flexible way to navigate and access the project data, according to each user’s role.
    • Because AVEVA Engineering stores data in the same project environment as the 3D and schematic data, a PBS can be defined that includes objects from all domains.

    A wide variety of high- quality, formatted reports can be configured as required and produced directly from the database. These can include:

    • line lists
    • equipment lists
    • tag registers
    • ad-hoc reports, progress and completeness reports, status charts etc.
    • With the same technology infrastructure as AVEVA E3D™, PDMS, OutfittingDiagrams and Schematic 3D Integrator products, AVEVA Engineering requires no new system administration or customisation/configuration skills.
    • Compatibility with AVEVA Global allows the product to be used across even the most complex multilocation, distributed engineering projects.
    • Access to data created in AVEVA E3D, AVEVA PDMS and/or AVEVA Outfitting, and to P&ID and other diagramming data held in AVEVA schematic databases, provides unrivalled integration opportunities.

    Its highly configurable data model allows it to meet a wide range of project, customer and industry requirements, and to manage virtually any scope of project engineering data. Each discipline retains full control of its information relating to any item.

    A wide variety of fully formatted reports can be generated automatically, such as master tag registers, line lists, equipment lists or valve lists, and any kind of ad-hoc or departmental report.

    Users can easily view, create and modify data using spreadsheet and explorer-style interfaces, and create views according to need. For example:

    • a standard engineering list, potentially enabling several items to be modified in a single action
    • specialist views for specialist tasks
    • a navigable plant breakdown structure.

    Database access is fully controlled at all times, controlling how much of the data the user may view and/or change. All changes are stored automatically, and information about changes is accessible to other users on demand.

    Configurable consistency checks can be applied across the database at any time to check data quality, while built-in tools enable the status of individual objects to be carefully controlled and made visible to other users.

    Compare and Update utilities allow the identification of inconsistent data, whether from other AVEVA products or external sources.

    Built on leading-edge AVEVA technology, AVEVA Engineering supports distributed, multi-location working with AVEVA Global. It includes .NET APIs and the powerful PML programming language, enabling all kinds of project, customer, or industry configurations, customisations and automations to be applied.

    AVEVA Engineering is also Citrix Ready. This gives customers yet more flexibility in the way in which they configure and control projects, in particular with respect to distributed engineering teams and mobile engineers. The use of Citrix can even be combined with the use of the world-leading AVEVA Global™ technology on a single project.
