Move a Page or XF
For pages and XFs, move the Live Copy before moving the language-masters version.
If an item has subitems, the subitems will all move to the same new location as the parent item.
- Find the Live Copy to be moved.
- Highlight it.
- Select "Manage Publication" in the top of the interface.
- Unpublish the Live Copy.
- Highlight the Live Copy again.
- Select "Move" in the top of the interface.
- Move the item into a different folder, if applicable (Do not republish it yet.)
- Change its filename, if applicable.
- Adjust its references.
- Go the language-masters version.
- Highlight it.
- Select "Move" in the top of the interface.
- Move the item into a different folder, if applicable, that matches the same location as the Live Copy.
- Change its filename, if applicable, to match the Live Copy.
- Adjust its references.
- Go back to the Live Copy.
- Highlight it.
- Republish the Live Copy.
- Verify the changes.
- For Pages: Verify on the front-end of the live site that the page displays at its new URL.
- For XFs: Verify the paths are correct in the AEM backend.
Move an Asset
If an item has subitems, the subitems will all move to the same new location as the parent item.
- Find the asset to be moved.
- Highlight it.
- Select "Move" in the top of the interface.
- Move the item into a different folder, if applicable.
- Change its filename, if applicable.
- Adjust its references.
- Republish the asset and the items affected by the adjusted references as part of the move process.
- Verify on the front-end of the live site that the asset displays at its new URL.
