PI System Platform Migration - Process, Benefits, and Observations

In this presentation, we cover the ways in which the Genentech South San Francisco site leveraged their OSIsoft Enterprise Agreement to modernize an consolidate legacy site historians. We examine the process used to define and deploy the new PI System infrastructure as well as tools such as AF SDK that allowed us to migrate and validate 20 years worth of process and batch data with total data points numbering into the billions. We will also enumerate the benefits that are being realized post migration such as enhanced data reporting and visualization. Finally, we will review observations and plans to leverage PI AF data models developed as part of the project across sites and to the Enterprise level.
