New initiative to drive innovation, diversity and inclusion

AVEVA, a global leader in engineering and industrial software, today announced the first ASHA Bootcamp, a Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) initiative that will be launched in India. This initiative is designed for women engineers who are currently on a career break and are considering resuming work. The Bootcamp will span four weeks and include a range of training sessions to help participants sharpen their programming skills through hands-on sessions on object-oriented programming practices.
AVEVA sees diversity and inclusiveness as an essential part of our productivity, creativity, innovation and competitive advantage. As a signatory of the Women in Science and Engineering (WISE) initiative, AVEVA seeks to help and support organisations to increase the participation, contribution and success of women in science, technology, engineering and mathematics careers (STEM). AVEVA won the WISE Employer of the year in 2017.
“It is important that global companies such as AVEVA support initiatives that can help bring gender balance to the workplace. Comparable to Women in Science & Engineering (WISE), the ASHA Bootcamp initiative reconfirms AVEVA’s commitment towards Diversity & Inclusion (D&I), inside as well as outside the organisation,” said Falguni Shah, HR Business Partner for AVEVA. “Our India workforce currently comprises of 30% women. Our goal is to increase that figure by encouraging and supporting women in technical roles.”
Enrolment selection for the ASHA Bootcamp is based on pre-defined criteria established to maximise the effectiveness and success of the initiative. Once selected, there will be no cost incurred by the candidate, with, a maximum of 20 attendees at this first session.
